Water Droplets

This shoot was inspired by Makpo Bano in the sense of the use of bright and interesting patterns to use behind my water droplets. The idea of this shoot was to have the background pattern blurred but to capture it in focus inside the droplet. I felt this image was quite successful in doing so. I was able to capture a clear, defined water droplet, with a nice gloopy-looking pattern inside of it, which represents the waters curves and liquid state. I found the colours to be bright and vibrant, which mirrored Makpo Bano's images clearly. When editing this image, originally the tap was covered in limescale, however by using the cloning tool i successfully covered it when a nice metallic shine. One thing i would change about this image is the shadow behind the water droplet, as i think the image would've looked stronger if the entire background was the green pattern as the shadow takes the attention away from the droplet, which should be the center focus
This was the most successful photo from the shoot. I really liked the tartan pattern as i believe that this is more visually pleasing than the green spotty pattern. I favoured the way the water formed a beaded look as it came out of the tap, and that despite the movement the droplets remained clear and in focus. I quite like the small shadow to the left of the droplet as this makes the image appear 3D and gives it more depth. When editing this image, once again i cloned out the limescale on the tap, and used the burn tool to highlight the shines in the water. I also altered the contrast and brightness to enhance the colour and make the image more vibrant. This image actually ended up being part of my final in my exam, as i felt that this was overall a really successful and technically challenging image.
This image is the weaker photo out of the three. The reason for this being the image lacked the brightness that the other photos had. However, the water droplet was still in focus with a clear tartan pattern inside, which makes this photo increasingly successful in comparison to other photos that i took during the shoot. Once again, i edited out the limscale, and enhanced the metallic colours in the tap.
